I have been a private tutor since 1998 and am a Wesleyan University graduate. I am now providing online tutoring to students enrolled in full or partial remote learning plans. I cover multiple subjects (including English, Elementary Math, and Algebra I), test preparation (including the ISEE, PSAT, and SSAT), and English as a Second Language (ESL) for children and adults. For six years, I taught writing proficiency and math at an after-school tutoring center to students of various ages. To aid in my English and ESL tutoring, I draw on my years of experience editing novels, graduate-level research papers, and news stories for broadcast on commercial radio and television stations.

Weekly in college, I professionally tutored underprivileged elementary-schoolers at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Syracuse, NY. There were days I'd be so proud of a kid for stretching their brain to learn something new that I would cry--I LOVE kids. I was also an art and science counselor at a SF Bay Area summer camp called Galileo, which emphasized innovation. At Cuse, I was also a tutor for student-athletes struggling at collegiate-level subjects, and I often was the go-to friend for help studying, rewriting papers and optimizing job applications. I graduated from Syracuse University's S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications with cum laude honors, a degree in television, radio and film and a minor in sport management. However, even post-grad, I'm a lifelong learner: Eagerly reading, taking online courses and meditating on the daily. I can tutor all ages in a wide array of subjects: English, Spanish, reading, writing, science, art, math, sports... you name it!

I have over 16 years of classroom experience and have had my own tutoring business for almost 17 years. I absolutely love working with children and helping them overcome their challenges. My experience includes working with children who have Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, and other special needs, including children who are intellectually gifted. In addition, I am a certified Wilson Reading System instructor. Some of my other achievements include being chosen by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to be videotaped teaching reading for professional development and new teacher training for the state of Pennsylvania, named to Who's Who Among America's Teachers, the first recipient of the Annual Golden Apple Outstanding Service Award from my school district, creator and director of a summer literacy and math program for students from preschool to middle school with remedial to advanced skill levels, and a new teacher mentor.

I am a certified elementary teacher with an MA in teaching. I have nine years of successful tutoring experience. My job is to help students get to the next level in a creative and efficient way.
